Regarding many conservative religious people the woman's head covering and rejection of adornment, is the center of their conservative lifestyle, and in their mind is a most important issue that separates them from the liberal and ungodly world. Yet following are exposed various issues about veiling that often brought tears to the writers eyes as he learned them, and with 12 simple yet pointed questions about veiling which the writer feels all should answer. Please carefully read the things exposed herein with the related 12 questions and simply circle either the YES or the NO given at the end of each question. Yet before circling any of the answers please read and ponder all 12 questions as they relate so much to one another. Please here obey the Scripture that says, "Walk in wisdom... that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man. ...and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you..." (Col 4:5-6, 1 Pet 3:15).

Question 1; Do you think Jewish women in old times wore obscuring anti beauty veils (relating to what the Greeks wore and Tertullian advocated) while at the same time wearing their special jewelry and adornments as Abraham's servant gave to Rebecca, and as Jewish women freely wore in old times? Please think soberly. It would have been quite interesting to have earrings on under unattractive Greek, Tertullian and Moslem type veils!

Please circle either YES or NO.

Question 2; The writer would think Jewish women rather than wearing jewelry under obscuring Greek and Moslem type veils, sometimes rather wore decorative veils such as spoken of in the Song of Solomon and Isaiah and which kind of veil Rebecca (the recipient of much jewelry) likely put on when meeting Isaac. Note, most Scriptures in our Bibles which use the word Bride, for some reason happen to be speaking of her adorning herself or of special joys because of her. Or do you rather think Jewish women wore obscuring and unattractive Greek type veils with their adornments?

Please circle either YES or NO.

Question 3; God in ancient times, had various laws regarding His people's appearance. The Jews were not to disfigure their faces or make any marking in their flesh. Further, proper hair length was an important covering for the Priests as they were not to shave their heads or to have long hair. Although God had laws as these, do you know of any Old Testament Scripture that commanded ancient Jewish women to wear obscuring hair and head veils?

Please circle either YES or NO.

If yes please give the Scripture(s) below.

Question 4; If you have NO PROOF that Greek and Tertullian type veils were worn in old Jewish times, can you then conclude they must be worn in the Gospel era because of Paul's teaching about appropriate covering in 1 Corinthians 11:1-16? Such Scripture actually concludes saying, "Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered? 14 Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him? 15 But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering"? Please read that conclusion again as conclusions are the most important part of a teaching. Further verses 5-6 of this Scripture speak of it being an obvious shame for a woman to be shaven or shorn and lack her natural comely and glorious covering of hair. Further verses 7-10 of this very Scripture emphasize that woman is the glory of man and made for man, and that she therefore should have power [Greek, liberty freedom] on her head because of or with the Angels. While even further the word "for" in the term "for" a covering" comes from a Greek word meaning replacement and is translated as instead of and in the room of over a hundred times in the Greek Bible, and thus it is very possible Paul in this Scripture was saying her longer hair which is a glory to woman is given instead of the oppressive Greek veil, which even veiled women's faces. Again the question is, "if you have NO PROOF that Greek and Tertullian type veils were worn in old Jewish times, can you then conclude they must be worn in the Gospel era because of 1 Corinthians 11:1-16."

Please circle either YES or NO.

Question 5; Do you think Paul in 1 Cor 11:1-16 was advocating women must wear a hair or head obscuring veil, when he in his next letter to these Greeks, a people wherein women's faces were veiled further wrote, "Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away. 17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord." (2 Cor 3:16:18).

Please circle either YES or NO.

Question 6; Considering that in Paul's religious background appropriate hair length was considered an important covering to the Priests, considering the Priests further were commanded to wear glorious head wear in their worship, and considering Paul in this very Scripture rebuked long hair, would it then appear that Paul in this Scripture yet was speaking against head wear for men rather than long hair ?

Please circle either YES or NO.

Question 7; Just because Paul here focused on appropriate covering particularly in praying and prophesying, can you prove Paul here was speaking of a temporary covering that can easily be taken off and on? Note, if Paul in trying to make an impression would have asked, "judge in yourself whether it is comely for a man to have long hair and nails and be attired like a demon in praying and prophesying", that would not mean he meant that such would be acceptable at other times. Rather he could simply be trying to make a point of how this erroneous appearance, seems so much more improper in that special setting.

Please circle either YES or NO.

Question 8; Can you prove that Paul saying, if woman is not covered she should be shorn, meant she should merely cut her hair? Please consider Paul rather could have meant she should be shorn like sheep are shorn, and thus insinuating that if a woman has her hair cut short (rather than it being the glory God intended it to be), she might as well simply finish the job and cut it all off which obviously is a shame to woman.

Please circle either YES or NO.

Question 9; Do you feel it is proper that regarding many Amish and Mennonite women, their longer hair which Paul spoke of as being a glory and a covering to woman, instead and oppositely is mostly a perpetual hidden nuisance to them? Remember Paul taught it is a shame to remove or void this comely covering. .

Please circle either YES or NO.

Question 10; If Paul in this Scripture actually would have been demanding veils for women, as many Catholics, Amish, and Mennonites advocate, do you feel it is proper that many Amish and Mennonite men then often needlessly cover their head with head wear of some kind, although Paul advocated men should be uncovered largely in the same manner as he advocated woman should be covered?

Please circle either YES or NO.

Question 11; Do you have a valid basis to honor the so called early church father's writings regarding the veil, when they advocated women's faces should be veiled and wrote very dreadful things about woman, marriage, and love in marriage, which emphasize resulted in erroneously disallowing marriage and which error Apostle Paul spoke of as the doctrines of Devils?

Please circle either YES or NO.

Question 12; Considering how Jesus said the truth makes us free, considering how Apostle James called God's laws the perfect law of liberty, considering how King David said he would walk at liberty because he sought God's precepts, considering how Apostle Paul taught women should have power, liberty, and freedom on their heads because or with the Angels of glory, and considering all the issues about veiling as considered above, do you think you should demand women to wear any veil relating to the Greek and Tertullian veil or that you should discredit Christian women who do not wear a veil?

Please circle either YES or NO.

It is very interesting to me that one of my first Bibles, which I likely got when I was 11 to 14 years old has what looks like a big bite taken out of a page and Scripture. And guess where that bite is taken out of my Bible. See the photo below to see. No other page in any of my Bibles has a strange bite taken out of it like this page does. It is interesting how the bite starts at 1 Cor 11:7 right where Paul speaks about woman being the glory of man, while the bite then continues right through the most essential part of Paul's covering teaching. I think this unusual tear happened soon after I got this Bible and possibly over 30 years ago. Yet I am not sure when it happened and have no idea how it happened.

So many miracles occurred on the subject since writing this article it is hard to keep tract of them all. Another was when framing photos of the Bible pages as below, God seen fit to put a hair at an amazing place quite obviously confirming that hair is the covering. Note the small hair!

My Bible On Left My Wife's Bible On Right

In the last two years as I studied and discovered many things about this Scripture, this bite out of my Bible has become quite impressive to me, although I never paid any attention to it before. It appears untruth has bitten into and largely stolen this Scripture. Various Bible translations even directly contradict with one another regarding this Scripture. For many years I too ignorantly defended a descended form of the Tertullian veil, yet after reading some informative literature of W. Stoppels', and after researching Greek history and Scriptures and discovering many vital and obvious things about veiling, I began to see things very differently, and which brought many tears to my eyes.

Further after I showed my family the above page with the unique bite taken out of it at that peculiar place, my daughter than looked through other Bibles to see if she could find something similar elsewhere, and what she found again was amazing. She then found a page in my wife's old Bible with a bite taken out of a page just about the same size and shape as the bite in my Bible. I had thought the tear or bite in my Bible as above, almost looked intentional, and I wondered if someone did it on purpose. Notice how perfectly curved the above tear or bite is. Yet after my daughter found a quite similar bite in my wife's Bible I felt it likely was not done on purpose as those kind of tears could just happen. Then when I read the verses right by the bite in my wife's Bible was I ever amazed, as the two verses which were almost in the middle of the bite read as follows;

(Gen 38:14-15) "And she put her widow's garments off from her, and covered her with a vail, and wrapped herself, and sat in an open place, which is by the way to Timnath; for she saw that Shelah was grown, and she was not given unto him to wife. When Judah saw her, he thought her to be an harlot; because she had covered her face."

See the above right Bible page is a picture of my wife's Bible.

It is amazing how Tertullian advocated women's faces should be veiled, while this Scripture speaks of harlots veiling their faces and being known by such veiling. It could be that in old times some harlots covered their faces to hide their identity to avoid any personal feelings about the situation. In concluding this article my wish is that those truths and those evidences which point us to truth, and which have been taken out of our Bibles by the devouring mouth of falsehood would be placed back in our Bibles so that truth can be clearly known. Although the face veiling Greek and Tertullian veil, is largely extinct in Christendom today, may we not erroneously hold to anything that is a descendent of it. Although the unique bites in my Bible as well as my wife's Bible, and where they happen to be is very amazing, yet the Scriptures and obvious issues considered in this article are much more amazing and important. Please honestly consider them. Note, articles cS, cU, cZ, and dN found at "TeachMeGod.com" also consider this subject and much more extensively.

May God help the reader be an honest seeker for truth, rather than merely a blind religious animal seeking to be petted and fed by his religious friends. Such one's often barbarously evade, confuse, and resist the truth and Jesus speaking of such ones called them dogs, swine, wolves, and serpents and which shall not enter the Kingdom of Heaven. God's people rather than being animal like, are to be childlike, and can be known by something better than veiling and that is by their love for one another, and may we be known by such! Please here obey the Scriptures that advocate Christians should be ready to give an answer for what they believe and thus kindly answer the above 12 questions, and return your answers. God Bless.
